9.1. Possesses up-to-date computer and technology skills necessary for effective communications and presentations.
a. Who is your target audience? Why is this group your target audience? |
Children's librarians are my target audience. My Digital Advocacy story is intended to get children's librarians motivated about learning and using technology effectively.
|
b. How does your advocacy story relate to the concept of social justice? |
All public library visitors should be able to walk in to a library and have someone available to assist them with technology questions, and children's librarians should be prepared to handle that role. While we may not all be expected to be technology gurus, having even just basic knowledge of computers, tablets, and e-books will help us serve not just children, but their parents and caretakers so that they, too, will feel like the library is a place for them. |
