Literacy Matters Wiki: Children's Literature Blog Page Guidelines
Please follow this format for your LS5603: Literature for Children & Young Adults Children's Literature Blog.
1. Create a PicMonkey with three or four book jackets from the books you reviewed on your blog. These books must be appropriate for early childhood literacy programming. Access PicMonkey here.
2. Add the Literacy Matters Logo as one more image on your PicMonkey collage. Right click on the image above and save it to your computer so you can upload it to PicMonkey. Save it at the medium ("Pierce") file size and resolution.
3. Put the heading on the top of your Literacy Matters Children's Literature Blog page - Text font color: Purple - Size: Heading 2 (See the example below.)
4. Upload and embed your PicMonkey collage (which includes the Literacy Matters Logo) next on your blog page.
5. Give your blog a name that reflects the content of your early childhood literacy book reviews. (Please keep it to five or six words!) Link your Children's Literature Blog to that name (e.g., Best Books for New Moms Blog). Center it on the page.
6. Copy and paste the entire table and respond to the following questions:
a. Who is your target audience? Why is this group your target audience?
|
Record your responses in this column.
|
b. What strategies would you use to help your target audience to access your blog? Why would you use those strategies?
|
|
c. How will you continue to contribute to the knowledge in the field of children's literature?
|
|
7. On the blogs page, list the name of your blog in the box beside your name. Use the blog name to explain the content of your blog. Do not link your blog from that page. (6 word limit)
8. List all references in Chicago Author-Date format, including ALSC competencies. Citations for all of the book jackets you have represented in your collage must be listed in your references. See below.
Your page will look like this:
