Amy Stafford's Children's Literature Blog Page
a. Who is your target audience? Why is this group your target audience? |
My blog targets parents, educators, and librarians who seek to promote literature at home, in the classroom, and in the library to all ages of infants, children and teens. This target audience is at the core of helping children develop a healthy appetite for reading, so I aim to provide resources and information that can aid in that development. |
b. What strategies would you use to help your target audience to access your blog? Why would you use those strategies? |
As a Youth Services Librarian, I have the opportunity to promote my blog at work and on my city's Facebook page. Many parents ask me for help in finding the right book for their children either during storytime or while browsing the library, so word of mouth and a flyer on my office door will do the trick. Patrons also follow our Facebook page to get information on events and services, so this is another great way to get the word out. |
c. How will you continue to contribute to the knowledge in the field of children's literature? |
I plan to continue updating my blog with book reviews, as well as information about library programs, services, and even pictures from programs and events. I hope to encourage children and teens to submit book reviews that I can feature on this blog. Seeing their names and writing online can serve as a catalyst for further reading and writing. I would also like to encourage parents to submit reviews of books they read to or with their children.
