Tales to Promote the Early Literacy Trail
a. Who is your target audience? Why is this group your target audience?
|
The target audience for this blog would be parents of preschool aged children, information professionals, childcare professionals, and fellow children's librarians. The information presented in this blog can be used to promote preschool learning in both the library and home environments. |
b. What strategies would you use to help your target audience to access your blog? Why would you use those strategies? |
Social media would be a great source to use to share this blog with those who may be more digitally connected. Those sources could include but are not limited to Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and LinkedIn. Additionally, my blog could be e-mailed to interested persons or shared through educational listservs. For those parents and/or professionals who do not have ready access to the internet, I would share information from my blog during library events, on visual displays in the library, and through paper flyers. |
c. How will you continue to contribute to the knowledge in the field of children's literature? |
I will continue to read children's books and write reviews in a similar fashion. By doing this, I will be sharing early literacy information with those who most need it. By taking the time to think critically about children's books (similar to the way I did with this blog), I will also be building my own book knowledge that I will be able to share with parents and educators upon request. |
