11. Description of Example and Its Use in the Library:
The AndreaMosaic is a perfect Web 2.0 tool to introduce art to adolescents. Creating a mosaic using a software based program helps young minds have a better understanding of art. This tool also allows teenagers to be creative and distinguish themselves from others. Teenagers are growing up in a technological world and at times forget the importance of art. AndreaMosaic brings many concepts together such as art, technology and creativity. The AndreaMosaic project will work great in a public library teenage hangout area.

12. Description of How the Example Capitalizes on the Tool's Potential:
The mosaic piece I chose depicts a child sitting on the grass reading a book. I used this image because it relates to reading and the image itself is warm and fun to look at. The picture I used is a personal photo of my daughter. The pictures used to build the mosaic were my own, depicting a family vacation. Using family owned pictures demonstrates to the young participants that using family photos makes the mosaic more unique. |
